PHU QUOC ISLAND
Situated in Kien Giang
province, Phu Quoc is the largest island among the 22 islands located in the
Gulf of Thailand, and also the largest island of Viet Nam.
Called the "Emerald
Island", Phu Quoc is well-known for its stunning white sand beaches and
blue sea water. In addition to its pristine natural beauty, this island is also
famous for such specialties as fish sauce, Sim wine and various types of
seafood. Kien Giang Biosphere Reserve, including Phu Quoc, was recognized as a
World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2006.
