I/ Foreign News:

 - During the official visit to Japan by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc from 4 - 8/6/2017, representatives of Vietnam and Japan have signed a series of documents worth more than 23 billion USD. The two sides exchanged 14 documents, including four ODA projects worth 912 million USD.

 II/ Socio-Economic News:

 In the first five months of 2017, the country had 50,534 newly-established enterprises with total capital of VNĐ485.6 trillion, a year-on-year rise of 12.9 per cent in the number of enterprises and of 39 per cent in the registered capital compared to the same period in 2016. Accordingly, the number of newly-established enterprises surged 72.8 per cent in property trading sector; 38.9 per cent in banking, finance and insurance; 31 per cent in education and training sector; 27.3 per cent in health-care and social support activities, and 18.4 per cent in the sector of accommodation and catering services, in addition to 12.6 per cent in construction industry and 11.7 per cent in manufacturing and processing industry (According to the General Statistics Office).

 - In the first 5 months of 2017, Vietnam's seafood export reached 2.8 billion USD, an increase of 10.4% compared to the same period of 2016 (reported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development).

 - Vietnam ranked 6 out of 30 top economies with the most attractive retail market in the world, rising 5 steps in the ranking as compared to 2016 (Report Retail Development Index Global GRDI 06/05/2017) .

 II/ /Cultural – Sport – Tourism News:

- Vietnam team won 06 medals, with five silver and one bronze medals, at this year’s Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad 2017, an online computer programing competition hosted by Australia (Ministry of Education and Training).

 - Mr. Pham Tran Gia Phuc won the gold medal at the first World Youth Fast Chess Championship 2017 in Belarus from 2 to 4 June 2017.

- The online media outlet Thrillist of the US has listed ancient Hoi An City of Vietnam among the most beautiful and cheapest beach cities in the world (Thrillist Travel Site, USA).

 - The Vietravel tourist company was again awarded the title as the best travel service provider in Asia and Australia at the 24th World Travel Awards - WTA held in Shanghai, China on June 4, 2017. This is the 5^th time Viettravel won the award and Vietravel was the only representative of Vietnam and the region won the title at the competition./.
